President George W. Bush
The White House
Washington, D.C.

[Notes from the translator: Mr. President, I received the following letter written in Korean from a lady in Korea. She is a patriot and devout Christian, and is worried sick about her country and people. I hope I did not lose her deep feelings of despair in translation. Thank you for reading the letter. Sin-U Nam]

Dear Mr. President:

End of Tyranny. This was what you said in your annual message.

We were all much encouraged and happy to hear you say that.

We thought the message was for us, 70 million Koreans both in the North and the South.

The U.S. liberated us from the Imperial Japan in August 1945.

The U.S. came to help us in a hurry in June 1950 against the Communist aggression.

Since then, South Korea became a big economic power under the umbrella of the U.S.

However, our country is still divided and has not overcome the ideological struggle yet. We have had two leftist Presidents in a row in South Korea. The country is in turmoil like never before. North Korea is bragging its nuclear weapons threatening the world.

The word of the Lord came to me again: ¡°What do you see?¡±

¡°I see a boiling pot, tilting away from the north,¡± I answered.

The Lord said to me, ¡°From the north disaster will be poured out on all who live in the land.¡± ? Jeremiah 1:13-14

I believe that these Words were from our Lord for Koreans now.

North Korea is not just another country with a different ideology. For the past 60 years, it has been under one man dictatorship with absolute power over the people. So much blood and so much suffering. North Korea looks completely different from South Korea. We are no longer brothers. Even in South Korea, two successive leftist Presidents have confused the people into a complete chaos.

Maybe, this was in part due to the mistake by the U.S. during the President Kim Young Sam government. President Clinton did not strike North Korea because of President Kim Young Sam¡¯s protest against it.

The choice the U.S. made at the time brought about this disaster.

I believe the U.S. is partly responsible for what happened to us.

Mr. President, I read that you met with the North Korean defector, Kang Chol-Hwan.

What do you think he wanted to say to you above all?

Most likely, it was the ¡°elimination of Kim Jong-il.¡±

NK defectors, North Koreans, and all of us South Koreans want fervently the ¡°elimination of Kim Jong-il.¡±

I talked to a Christian minister not too long ago who visited North Korea several times.

He told me about North Korea:

- The largest prison in the world.

- The largest psychiatric hospital in the world.

- Classroom singing the evil.

- Flowerbed of the evil.

These were the words from a Christian minister. Chilling but penetrating.

This is the result from a hereditary absolute dictatorship for 60 years.

And yet,

The South Korean government is eager to help this evil, is against the collapse of the evil regime, is against the human rights in North Korea, and is becoming a run-away ally, breaking the historical alliance with the U.S.

End of Tyranny¡¦.When you said these words, they sounded like gospel words to us. They felt like spring rains to those who escaped the tyranny of Kim Jong-il. We were so encouraged in South Korea.

Our merciful God will not let the flickering light (South Korea) go out. He will not let the sick reed (North Korea) break. He will give you strength and wisdom, Mr. President, to enforce His will. I know it.

Be an Esther of Korea, Mr. President.

¡°And who knows but you that you have come to royal position for such a time as this?¡±

Esther 4:14

I believe that you were elected to be the President of the United States in part to save Korea and its people.

You are the most powerful in the world. You know the brutal dictatorship of Kim Jong-il. You are the only one who can strike him. Your goodness and your will can make the right decision.

Mr. President,

Whether it should be a preemptive strike in North Korea or something else, I do not know. 70 million Koreans have nobody to depend on but you.

Mr. President,

Please save Korea once more.

Save Korea from the nuclear holocaust, the satanic tyranny, and from the traitors in South Korea.

This is our prayer from all the people in South Korea. This is the only hope for those people dying in North Korea.

Our North Korean brothers and sisters have lost the will to fight against the evil dictator. South Korea is taken over by the leftist traitors.

We have no one but you to look up to in our despair, Mr. President.

You are the last hope of ours, President George W. Bush.

We are not cowards. We are not begging. We are not dead¡¦.

For the freedom and peace for all of us¡¦.to write to the one who truly loves freedom and peace.

President Bush,

It is time to decide and act now.

Shalbach ?
