U.S. warned N. Korea of military attack in April: Japanese report
TOKYO, Jan. 5 (Yonhap) --
The United States delivered a warning to North Korea in April last year about the possible use of force unless the communist country returns to multilateral talks on its nuclear weapons programs, a conservative Japanese daily reported Thursday.
But the North's return to six-party talks which also involve South Korea, Japan, China and Russia forestalled the U.S. action, the Sankei Shimbun said, raising the possibility that should the current stalemate continue, calls for such action might gain force in the U.S. administration.
