Watching over Dr. H on the bed through the windows, I am reading Ch. 3 of Ecclesiastes in the Bible.
"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven:
a time to be born and a time to die,
...
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
...
a time for war and a time for peace."

창문을 통해서 침상에 있는 Dr. H를 건너다 보며, 나는 성서에 있는 전도서3장을 읽고 있습니다.
천하에 범사가 기한이 있고 모든 목적이 이룰 때가 있나니:
날때가 있고 죽을 때가 있으며
...
울때가 있고 웃을 때가 있으며
...
전쟁할 때가 있고 평화할 때가 있으며
I am asking my God to give us a time to laugh soon, since He has already allowed us to weep over this tragedy. I wonder why God would not allow him to do something for his homeland, S. Korea, at this time.
나는 하나님께서 우리에게 곧 웃을 때를 주시기를 간구하고 있습니다. 왜냐면 이미 하나님은 우리에게 이러한 비극으로 우리에게 우는 것을 허락했기 때문입니다. 왜 하나님께서는 이러한 때에 그가 그의 조국을 위하여 무엇인가 하기를 허락하지 않으시는지 의아하게 생각합니다.
He means more than a son to me in my rough life.
Bet you will be surprised if you know who and what he is. He is not a person to blow his own horn, quite opposite to somebody, a leader of one group in Korea, who likes to call himself as a Korean genius or something. Until I happened to read his resume, I did not know he achieved such a prominent milestone, since he never boasted his achievement as a scholar as well as a researcher. Has he talked about his achievements in America to anybody in Korea? For example, he was cited for more than 5 times in the world famous biographical dictionaries, letting alone his numerous scholarly articles in the international journals.
그는 내 험한 인생에서 나에게 아들이상으로 소중합니다. 만약 그가 누구이며 어떤 존재인지 안다면 당신은 틀림없이 놀랄 것입니다.
그는 자신을 드러내지 않고 겸손했으며, 한국의 천재 혹은 어떤것으로 불리기를 좋아하는 한국내 한 그룹의 지도자와는 정반대의 사람이었습니다. 내가 우연히 그의 약력을 읽었을때 까지 나는 그가 그토록 탁월한 업적을 이루었다는 것을 알지 못했습니다. 왜냐하면 그는 연구원으로써는 물론 학자로써 그의 업적을 결코 자랑하지 않았기 때문입니다.
그가 한국의 누구에게든 미국에서 이룬 그의 업적을 말한 적이 있습니까?
예를 들자면, 국제학술잡지에서의 그의 많은 학술논문은 차치하고서라도, 그는 세계적으로 유명한 인명사전에 5차례이상 등재되었습니다.
I can't read the Korean language, but I already felt your warm and best wishes for him. Especially I am thankful for Pastor Kim JC (Someone interpretted for me. I don't quite catch it, but I feel his warm heart through the Holy Spirit) and Mr. Bunsekka's letter to me. Your prayers and thoughtul messages would reach his heart and our God would find favor with all of our earnest prayers. It is my belief that his fellow Koreans might need this man as much as the NGS need.
나는 한국어를 읽을수 없지만 그를 향한 여러분들의 따뜻한 마음과 간절한 열망을 이미 느꼈습니다. 특히 나에게 편지해준 김진철목사님(누군가 나에게 번역하여 주었습니다. 나는 완전히 알아듣지는 못하지만 성령을 통하여 그의 따뜻한 마음을 느낍니다. )과 분석가에게 감사합니다.
여러분들의 기도와 사려깊은 메시지는 그의 마음에 닿았을 것이며, 우리하나님은 우리의 열심있는 기도자들의 간구를 들으셨을 것입니다. 그의 한국인동료들은, 남굴사가 그를 필요로 하는 만큼이나, 이 사람을 반드시 필요로 한다는 것이 나의 믿음입니다.
Thank you for your prayers and kind letters, messages, and comments for him. It is a time to weep, but our Lord will allow us a time to laugh soon. Today is the first Lord's Day this year. I will pray that our Lord would allow him to talk and smile at me. Also, I wish you a happy New Year, surely Dr. H will wish you the same thing.
