Roh urges Japan to change approach with N Korea
Friday, December 5, 2003 at 01:12 JST
SEOUL — South Korean President Roh Moo Hyun urged Japan to take a cooperative position to solve issues concerning North Korea, including abductions of Japanese nationals by the North, saying that hatred and confrontation would never be successful in settling the problems.
Roh made the comments in a meeting at the Blue House presidential office in Seoul with a group of Japanese lawmakers led by former Japanese Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori. The lawmakers who are members of a Japan-South Korea parliamentarians' league requested South Korea's help in settling the abduction issue. (Kyodo News)
